Disability Action Week 2024
Disability Action Week 2024
7 November 2024

Held in Queensland at the end of November each year, Disability Action Week promotes inclusion and raises awareness about the rights and contributions of people with disability. It’s about sparking conversations, and encouraging everyone to create a more inclusive community. Disability Action Week aligns with the International Day of People with Disability on December 3rd.

What Is It All About?

  • Raising Awareness: The week is all about understanding the challenges faced by people with disabilities and showing support.
  • Celebrating Achievements: It’s a chance to highlight the contributions people with disability make in our communities.
  • Learning and Inclusion: Through fun activities, workshops, and events, people come together to learn about inclusion and ways to make spaces more welcoming.
  • Encouraging Change: The week motivates businesses, schools, and groups to make everyone feel included and valued.

Why It Matters

Disability Action Week helps shine a light on issues that people with disability face and shows ways to overcome barriers. It brings people together and helps build stronger, more understanding communities. It’s not just about talking—it’s about taking action that makes a real difference in everyday life.
